The Ka-Bar knife is a knife used by the U.S. Marines during WWII, and is still used.

The Ka-Bar knife became a certain favorite amongst the Marine Corps, replacing knives such as the M1917/1918 or Mark I, which were used for only trench warfare.
The Ka-Bar has been seen many times. Notably when Bill Smith popped a blood blister on Leckie's foot in Part Three, when Gunny Haney killed a Japanese at Peleliu in Part Five, when a Marine tried taking gold teeth from a live Japanese in Part Seven, when Sledge cut off the insignia of a dead Japanese in the same episode, and when Sledge used the knife to wipe some maggots off on Okinawa during Part Nine
