THE F-SERIES MARINE DIVISION

The F-series table of organization was based on lessons learned in the Solomon Islands campaigns and at Tarawa. It was implemented in May 1944. Divisions organized under T/O F-100 fought in the campaigns for Saipan & Tinian, Guam, Peleliu and Iwo Jima. The F-100 Marine division was a robust and well-balanced structure ideally suited for the island campaigns of the Central Pacific.
